Westview Promotes Zach Baldry to Field Service Manager

new management role extends capacity for expanded customized service

Burbank, California – November 8, 2017 – Expanding capacity for site-based personalization, Westview Productions has promoted Zach Baldry to Field Service Manager, in charge of all field operations and installation technicians. The new role as Field Service Manager will also expand the comprehensive Westview project experience, bringing an unparalleled level of jobsite customer service to customers.

A member of the Westview team since 2008, Baldry has worked his way through the company performing roles in every aspect of field service from installation technician to lighting controls specialist. As an active rigger, Baldry is certified in several rigging manufacturers’ products. Receiving his ETCP* Rigging certification in 2011, Baldry holds the certification along with being the standing title to be the youngest person ever to receive the certification. Baldry also is an experienced lighting controls programmer. Certified in architectural, energy management, and entertainment lighting controls, his participation and leadership has proven valuable on landmark projects including World of Coca-Cola in Atlanta and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Colorado.

Tyler Wise joins Westview Productions as Vice President

Wise recently served as National Sales Manager for Group One Limited’s Lighting Division, managing the elektraLite brand globally and, more recently, the DTS Lighting brand throughout North America. Prior to that, Wise worked at Production Resource Group (PRG) and was responsible for business development within multiple divisions of the company. His multidiscipline role involved global project development including new construction, renovation, production development, and special events. Most applications of his work were for conference centers, theatres, opera houses, amphitheatres, stadiums, and large-scale commercial and industrial spaces.  

Eric Bloom, president and founder of Westview Productions noted that “Westview has been growing at a fairly rapid pace over the past few years, and it became increasingly apparent that we needed somebody to come on board full-time to handle our national sales and marketing needs. Tyler seemed to us to be a natural fit for the job. This is a small industry, and both his background knowledge, and repertoire of industry contacts and relationships along with his understanding of our position in the market, will help Westview expand in the coming years. He also has positive existing relationships with a number of our current employees, so bringing him on really seemed to be nothing short of a no-brainer.” Bloom stated. “He is truly good at what he does.”

With an extensive Production Management background, Wise started his career touring internationally with two professional dance companies as well as two classical vocal groups. More recently he has served as Production Manager for several off-Broadway productions, winning two Lucille Lortel Awards and one OBIE. Significant project experience includes the New York Times Building, Carnegie Hall Renovation, the World of Coca-Cola, EPA Headquarters, New York Yankees Stadium, the Ellie Caulkins Opera House, The Kennedy Center, Nature Research Center, Juilliard’s Alice Tulley Hall, and several landmark theme park and cruise line projects with The Walt Disney Company.

Westview Productions Announces Southern California Expansion

Addition of west coast location strengthens commitment to customers

Denver, Colorado: The opening of a new office in Burbank, California is the latest addition to the Denver-based Westview Productions strategic operational growth plan.

Located right off the Ventura Freeway at 3900 West Alameda Avenue, the new office is intended to support customers in the Greater Los Angeles metropolitan area, and will include a sales team, project foremen, and service technicians (as well as other support personnel) to provide greater support to the west coast market. Lea Steele, vice president of operations says that “being able to more quickly respond to our customers is really our goal here. The new location will allow us to engage with a faster response and better serve our clients.”

Integration and Controls Expands with Addition of Project Engineer

Denver, Colorado: Westview Productions is pleased to announce the addition of Robert Alek as project engineer, joining the integration and controls team.

Alek joins Westview after 9 years as a technology integrator, with a specialty focus on electronic access control and video surveillance. In fact, he holds a government agency Access Control Permitting License. With a diverse knowledge of network-based solutions, Alek specializes in system layout and custom integration with building systems.

Alek started in the field as an installation technician and then spent many years as a field operations manager. His experience covers many aspects of business from project management to assisting the sales team. With a degree in Industrial Design from MSU Denver, Alek will be directly responsible for the expansion of CAD offerings within both the controls and integration divisions at Westview Productions. “I am very excited to join the talented team at Westview,” says Alek. “I look forward to the challenges ahead, and I hope to help grow the already diverse abilities of this group in order to better serve our clients.”

Westview Reaches New ‘Heights’ in Theatre Rigging

A third member of the Westview Productions Team Achieves Certification

Denver, Colorado: With little experience in the rigging and installation world, Todd Henderson joined Westview Productions as a technician and dedicated himself to his career. After years of working on theatres, museums, and a diverse range of projects nationwide, he refined his skills and focused on rigging as a trade specialty. As someone who greatly enjoys tasks that involve fabricating, building, and any project where he can get his hands dirty, it proved to be a mutual fit. Now a four-year team member at Westview Productions, Henderson is a project Site Foreman, and most recently passed the ETCP certification in Theatre Rigging.

In speaking about ESTA and the ETCP certification program, Henderson said, “This certification is my stamp of approval, showing that I have the knowledge and expertise to safely install rigging systems. It makes me a part of a respected organization of individuals whose level of professional exceeds the standard of the rigging industry. I am looking forward to being a part of the ETCP group and to further my education with classes that stay up to date with the new technology and knowledge from other certified technicians. When a certified rigger is on site overseeing or installing a rigging system, the client can be sure that it was completed to the highest standard that our industry holds.”

The Entertainment Technician Certification Program (ETCP) is a voluntary industry certification program that, through required hands-on experience, extensive education, and an intensive examination, awards certification to successful candidates in several fields of the entertainment technology field, including rigging. Currently there are approximately 700 ETCP certified theatre riggers worldwide.

Westview Productions Expands Project Management Team

Lighting Division Grows with Addition of Project Manager

Denver, Colorado: Westview Productions is pleased to announce the addition of Kara Kudzma as Project Manager for the lighting division.

Kudzma joins Westview after 10 years as a project manager for exhibition planning & implementation at the Denver Art Museum. During her tenure, she implemented a formal planning process for exhibitions, managing internal teams as well as numerous types of design contractors and fabricators. Working on exhibits such as Treasures from the Louvre, Being Van Gogh, and Samurai, Kara was responsible for coordinating all aspects of exhibition production. Having been involved with lighting exhibits over the years, Kara is delighted to be involved in the broader world of lighting at Westview Productions.

“I decided to move into the private sector because I craved a change that would introduce me to a broader range of projects and people,” says Kudzma. “Westview combines a diversity in clients and products within the excitement of a growing company. Lighting can make or break any environment- whether a working office or a dramatic landscape, light is a fundamental element with the power to motivate, excite and capture our attention in a different way from anything else and I’m happy to be a part of it!”

A graduate of Lehigh University and the University of Denver, Kara’s strong cultural arts background is augmented by a professional certificate in project management from CSU. A Florida transplant, she has lived in Denver for 20 years. Besides projects, she also wrangles her 2 teenagers, 2 cats and a burgeoning succulent colony.
